RST Social – Thames Barges

Thursday 27th February at The Granary

This illustrated talk will be given by Stephen Nunn, Antiquarian Researcher from Maldon the home of Thames Barges. This talk fits in well with Lighters that plied their trade on the River Stour and transferred their loads to and from these barges for seagoing travel.

Doors open at 6pm, with optional ‘Fish & Chip’ supper at 7pm, followed by the 1-hour talk due to start at 8pm. The Granary bar will be open during this event.

The food must be pre-booked and will be paid for IN CASH on the night. The closing date for ordering food is 12 noon on Thursday 20th February. Anyone cancelling after this will be charged.

Proceeds from the event go towards the restoration and conservation of the Suffolk and Essex River Stour Navigation for the education and benefit of the public.
