We would like to assure everyone that despite this blow, the Trust is very much still in business and all of our activities going forward will be unaffected. This is thanks to magnificent efforts by our volunteers and administration team.
All our computer files were backed up, and most of our historic photographs digitised, so these have not been lost. Our administration team have temporarily relocated to our Granary building in Sudbury but we are actively seeking an alternative location for the office until such time as we can return to the VEC.
River trips will continue from Sudbury and Flatford till the end of October as usual, while functions at the Granary will be unaffected. The boat trips and tea room will then re-start at Easter 2019.
This year’s Sudbury to the Sea canoe event was its usual huge success, despite taking place only a week after the fire, with over 500 people of all ages paddling the 24 miles from Sudbury to Cattawade.
We’d like to thank all our Trust members and members of the public for their many messages and offers of support.
